ADULT PROGRAM

Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

The Genesis Behavioral Health Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides structured therapy groups with a holistic focus on mind, body, and spirit. With an emphasis on treating mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders, our adult IOP program is specifically tailored to young adults ages 18+ who are struggling with autonomy and independence, family-related issues, mild substance use issues, and phase of life difficulties. Appointments can be scheduled both in person and virtually through telehealth.

Our Program Focus

Young Adults (ages 18+) focused on:

  • Interdependence and autonomy
  • Depression / Other mood disorders
  • Substance misuse
  • Family related issues
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Phase of life transitions

Why Participate in an Intensive Outpatient Program?

Intensive Outpatient services are designed to serve as an increase in care from once-a-week outpatient therapy or as a step-down from a higher level of care (acute care hospitalization or residential services). The Genesis adult IOP provides individualized treatment plans and utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

Would I qualify for the Intensive Outpatient Program?

  • Are you experiencing any of these issues: depression, anxiety, substance abuse, family conflict, difficulty with life transitions, autonomy and independence issues, or self-esteem/confidence?
  • Are you having limited to no progress in your individual counseling?
  • If you answered yes to these questions, call (225) 327-1704 for a phone consultation.

What Makes Genesis Unique?

Our holistic approach also incorporates the family system into treatment by providing weekly family therapy sessions for our clients throughout the course of treatment. While we employ a trans-theoretical approach to treatment in order to provide tailored interventions that meet our clients needs and goals, our most common treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Our ultimate goal is to employ these evidence-based treatments in order to motivate change and create a healthier life balance in not only our clients' lives but also within their family units.
