As a parent, it is difficult to navigate through a behavioral health system that seems so overwhelming and unclear. It is normal to be fearful and confused. Who can help you locate the right providers and services for your adolescent? We may be able to help or guide you in the right direction.
Intensive Outpatient services are designed to serve as an increase in care from once-a-week outpatient therapy or as a step-down from a higher level of care (acute care hospitalization or residential services). Genesis IOP provides individualized treatment plans and utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness-Based Therapy in treatment. Parent education encourages family involvement and is required every Tuesday via Zoom from 3:45 – 6:00 PM.
The adolescent intensive outpatient program is seven (7) weeks long and runs for a total of twenty-eight (28) sessions. The adolescent group meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:45PM to 6:00PM. The group meets in person on Monday and Thursday and on Zoom on Wednesdays.
The Parent Education group meets on Tuesdays via Zoom from 3:45 PM to 6:00 PM.
Will insurance cover the IOP program?During the intake process, we will verify your insurance benefits to verify the in network or out of network benefits. This information will be given before entering the program. We are in network with insurance providers. We can also request a single case agreement or file out of network claims.
What Makes Genesis Unique? We collaborate with outpatient providers throughout the treatment process. Clients must continue to see their individual therapist and psychiatrist during treatment to maintain the therapeutic relationship for continuity of care. We believe that involvement with parents and caregivers is crucial when accomplishing positive outcomes. In the parenting meeting, you will learn skills that will help you to set boundaries, validate, and increase communication with your adolescent. Our services are also unique in that we offer a hybrid program in which the adolescents meet twice a week in person and once a week virtually. We practice LGBTQ+ affirmative strengths-based practice.
