Chris Tarver

Since 1997 Chris has spent his life in the pursuit of helping others. He began his service in Peru,
South America and has sought out those in need of hope and a caring ear ever since. He graduated
with a Master's Degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University in 2012 where he also
received a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish. He also received a Master's Degree in Psychology from
Southeastern Louisiana University. He has a passion for helping others and providing the hope they
may need to exact the changes they desire in their life. He believes that his life experiences,
education and obtaining high quality training and mentors allows him to work with a broad range of
clientele with varying psychological, emotional, behavioral and addictive issues. Some of my areas
of focus include but aren't limited to: anxiety, depression, grief, co-dependency, and addiction.
Chris believes that life is about balance and developing an ability to find that balance in all aspects of
life. Chris uses a holistic and eclectic approach that incorporates CBT, Mindfulness, Rational
Emotive Behavior Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to treat adults, adolescents, children,
couples, and families. He is proficient in individual, family, and group therapy.
Chris believes that his own personal and professional growth grounded in his faith and family allows
him to have a unique perspective and treatment style. He is constantly seeking knowledge and new
experiences that will foster growth and improvement in all aspects of life.
In an attempt to find the needed balance of life, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and
friends in various activities including coaching sports, hunting, fishing and many other outdoor
activities.
