Tanya Stuart received a BA in Business from the University of New Orleans and her Master of Social Work from Southern University, New Orleans. While completing her academic work she served as a CASA volunteer for several years. Upon graduation, Mrs. Stuart accepted a position at Jefferson Parish District Attorney's office as a counselor. She went on to work for New Orleans Adolescent Hospital. Tanya was employed by substance abuse outpatient facilities, SAMHSA, and school systems working as a substance abuse and mental health counselor and/or administrator. She obtained her Licensed Addiction Counselor and her Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2006. Tanya was certified as a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor in 2009 and Certified Clinical Supervisor in 2015. She provides supervision for psychiatric residents, LMSW's and CIT's, serves as a liaison for LSU master level students, while maintaining a full time private practice. Tanya Stuart is also owner of Genesis Behavioral Health Services that offer specialty groups. Her areas of experience include mental health and substance abuse issues involving children, adolescents, and adults.
